Pre-Order the Spring 2026 Journal of Organic Architecture + Design
Pre-orders are now open for the Spring 2026 issue of the Journal of Organic Architecture + Design, devoted to the remarkable life and work of Florida architect Kenneth Treister. This richly illustrated volume explores Treister’s lifelong commitment to the fusion of architecture and art, presenting buildings that dissolve the boundaries between structure, sculpture, landscape, and human experience. From intimate courtyard houses and experimental schools to major civic works, religious architecture, and landmark mixed-use developments, Treister’s work reveals an organic vision rooted in craft, symbolism, and a deep respect for nature and community.
Influenced by the visionary work of architects like Frank Lloyd Wright and Antoni Gaudí, Treister created projects defined by sculptural concrete forms, verdant interior gardens, integrated stained glass, carved wood, ceramics, and custom furnishings—each conceived as part of a holistic work of art. Essays and photography examine celebrated works such as his innovative residential designs, socially engaged public housing, expressive religious spaces, and the iconic Mayfair developments in Coconut Grove, offering rare insight into an architect who believed buildings should be lived in, felt, and experienced over time.
Printed copies of the Spring 2026 issue will be mailed to arrive in April for all subscribers and pre-order customers. To ensure you never miss an issue—and to directly support the preservation and scholarship of organic architecture—readers are encouraged to become members of the Friends of OA+D. From The Archives :: Multi-Media Now Available Online
We’re pleased to announce a new Multimedia + Video section on the OA+D website, created to make moving-image content related to organic architecture and design more accessible to our community. This growing collection features lectures, interviews, event recordings, and other video materials that offer additional context and insight into the architects, ideas, and histories at the heart of the OA+D Archives.
As OA+D continues to digitize audiovisual materials from our collections and partner organizations, new content will be added on an ongoing basis. Many of these recordings capture voices, projects, and moments that cannot be fully conveyed through photographs or drawings alone, making this an important complement to our archival and publishing work.
We invite you to explore the new section and return often as it grows. Visit the video section here and check back in the future as more multimedia materials come online.
